This fun and educational app teaches young children the foundational skills they need to start reading. Song: This is how you learn to read
This educational song teaches four techniques for learning to read. Each skill is illustrated and explained through helpful animations and catchy lyrics. This song was created and sung by Dr. Jean Feldman. She has a B.A. from the University of Georgia, a D.A.S.T. from Emory University, and both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Georgia State University. Dr. Feldman inspires teachers across the country with her engaging songs and creative activities that help make teaching and learning FUN!

Lesson: Reading Words
In this interactive lesson Buzz and Penny show you what to do when you come across a word you cant read. Do you give up an stop reading? ...No! You look for clues to help you figure out what the mystery word is.

Activity: Learn the Words
Have fun exploring words and their letter sounds! Learn over 60 words in this activity as you tap the words to hear them read aloud or drag your finger over each letter to hear the individual letter sounds. Many of the words include images to help the child understand what the word means. The list of words comes from the Dolch word list of high-frequency sight words for Kindergarten.

At the end of the activity there is an exciting game show speed round that tests the childs ability to read the words. There are three levels of words they can unlock by beating the Speed Round games.

Game: Picture Builder
In this activity the children will get to use their creativity to build their own picture story.
First they get to choose a few words to describe the kind of picture they want to make. Then they get to put together a sentence that describes the picture. There are 45 different picture stories to discover!

Game: Photo Story
Help Penny and Buzz write a ten page story based on the photographs they took. They will show you a photo and a sentence with a blank in it. Look at the picture carefully and select the word that best completes the sentence and fits the photo. There are five different photo stories to enjoy.
